  • The aventures of 29 Palms Larry Briggs
    Wednesday, December 17, 2014 11:55:54 PM

Op-Ed Twentynine Palms ' Larry Briggs is a good fellow. Even though, like all of us flawed humans Larry is not without sin. As most regular readers of Cactus Thorns may have observed, Larry is the de facto public relations agent for the Twentynine Palms City Council. Larry Briggs is at it again. In his December 16, 2014 10:44 a.m. comment to the story, Larry posted: " Is the witch hunt over ?". The city council is the transgressor, not Larry Bowden. The Truth, The Whole Truth, and Nothing But the Truth..So Help Me Dawg.

  • More Carnage on Local Roads, One Killed, Three Injured in Three Crashes

A 25-year-old male, assigned to the Twentynine Palms Marine Corp Base, was killed in a crash early Saturday morning. According to Sheriff's Sergeant Matt Yost, witnesses reported that Eugene Hughes, 21, a corporal with 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, was passing vehicles at a high rate of speed as he was driving southbound on Old Woman Springs Road shortly after 6 p.m. Just north of Buena Vista, Hughes' Nissan Pathfinder collided head-on with an older model Toyota pick-up truck. • Unable to locate the Bowden KBB Corporation
    Sunday, December 14, 2014 6:45:37 PM

One can say there is a political if not legal scandal brewing at city hall with the appointment and pay package of Acting City Manager Larry Bowden. However, that would be incorrect because the scandal is like a pressure-cooker and the lid could blow its top. Mr. Bowden is a really nice fellow. The 29 Palms City Hall should have a DBA, a city license and a corporation nuumber pertaining to the BOWDEN KBB CORPORATION. Assuming there is no record of a 29 Palms KBB Corporation, this just turns-up the heat in the pressure-cooker.
