    By Tim Reid LOS ANGELES - A major capital markets creditor of bankrupt San Bernardino, California, will oppose any exit plan that is more favorable to Calpers, California's public pension fund, a source familiar with the creditor's strategy said on Thursday. San Bernardino declared bankruptcy in July 2012 with a $45 million deficit. Gary Saenz, San Bernardino's city attorney, said Stockton chose to pay Calpers in full in its bankruptcy plan. "The city has to have a life after bankruptcy," Saenz said.

Students at Meadow Park Elementary School donated more than 1,000 toys on Monday to Team Kids, a local nonprofit that will distribute the toys to underserved children in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, Ventura and Riverside counties. Last year, the students collected 1,000 toys along with a local Remax office, but this year the students wanted to finish the job by themselves. The donations will be part of the Stuff a Bus event on Friday at the Honda Center.
