    Owensboro's city commission is expected to vote on an ordinance that will help cover the cost of a new TIF district and hopefully re-pay a developer for building an important road. So when a TIF district is set up, taxes raised in that district are funneled right back to that area. Owensboro wants the district to encompass the proposed 200 million dollar Gateway Commons development project. If approved, the money raised from the TIF would reimburse the developer for building a mile long road connecting KY-54 to Pleasant Valley Road.

    The classes were held at the Western Kentucky University-Owensboro Campus in Owensboro , KY. The nine-week academy started on October 02, 2014 and concluded December 11, 2014. The ceremony was held at the Western Kentucky University-O Campus where Captain Robert Shoultz, Commander of Post 16-Henderson, was on hand to assist Trooper Corey King present the participants with their graduation certificates. Participants also took part in simulated traffic stops and a mock crime scene.

    OWENSBORO, KY - 50 Estes Elementary Students got an early Christmas Present Thursday afternoon in Owensboro. Students who got picked, couldn't believe it. "It's exciting because I needed a new bike and my bike was flat so it's really exciting," says 4th grader, Leeta Barrows. " I felt kind of excited, now I have two bikes, now I can give one to my little sister and I can have this one," says 4th grader, Joziah Acton. Academy Sports will donate 50 bikes to students at Meadow Lands Elementary in Owensboro next week, and Cedar Hall in Evansville.
