    "The preliminary investigation is indicating that it was possibly due to a high rate of speed," said Jorge Ramirez, an Ontario police officer. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner's Office. A 29-year-old Ontario man was crossing the street in the crosswalk, Ramirez said, and was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Inland Empire. "Witnesses in the area saw the vehicle run the red light," Ramirez said. The driver stopped and police are determining whether to cite the driver.

    A fire that burned two vehicles and a garage in Ontario is being investigated as suspicious, a fire official said. Flames were reported at 1:27 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at a home in the 2100 block of South Hickory Avenue, said Battalion Chief Rob Elwell. Sixteen firefighters extinguished the flames in about 15 minutes.' The vehicle on the street was completely destroyed and the other, along with the garage, had moderate damage. "It obviously looks suspicious and is being investigated by the arson bureau," Elwell said.
