  • West Covina buyout agreement details $440,000 payout to city manager, orders silence
    Friday, December 12, 2014 7:05:06 AM

Ousted West Covina City Manager Chris Chung is going to have a lucrative holiday season. The city will place $180,000 under the retiring city leader's Christmas tree on Dec. 24 and follow it on Jan. 6 with $260,743 more to ring in the New Year, according to a separation agreement released Thursday. As the city would have paid most of the buyout through severance, it's likely any lawsuit would cost more in legal fees than the $440,000 Chung will receive. The city will protect Chung from any lawsuit related to his time as city manager.
