    Starting Monday night, the Colton and Loma Linda Fire Departments will present their "Parade of Lights," a holiday caravan that will visit parts of cities every night through Dec. 22. Fire units adorned with Christmas lights will drive throughout the neighborhoods and escort Santa Claus on a decorated sleigh. Residents should be aware that the use of emergency sirens will announce the parade in each neighborhood. The caravan will tour Colton streets tonight through Saturday, and Loma Linda on Sunday and Dec. 22.

Community and love overflowed Monday at The Mexico Cafe as hundreds of people came out to support San Bernardino Police Officer Gabriel Garcia, who survived a life-threatening head injury while on duty last August. The "Fight On Gabe" fundraiser was hosted by the restaurant and the San Bernardino Police Officers Association to help the Garcias with Gabe's long-term care expenses. "That's no joke," he said laughing. Ron Garcia is a mentor and a father figure to him, and Gabe Garcia is like a brother.

    SAN BERNARDINO >> San Bernardino Superior Court Judge Pamela King issued a temporary restraining order Monday, prohibiting about 60 essential nurses from striking Tuesday and Wednesday, a number far less than what the county was seeking . "We are in dire straits," said Tim Yeung, who is representing the county on issues related to the strike by 1,200 Registered Nurses belonging to the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United union. Court, Yeung had been asking for about 170 strike-exempt positions per shift.

    POMONA >> Police officers have booked two men on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting at a nightclub this morning. The men arrested were Dhati Conley, 24, of San Bernardino and Terrell Wilds, 24, of Colton. The incident began at about 1:57 a.m., the department received several calls about gunshots at Club La Luna, 3220 Temple Blvd. The victim's injuries were serious but not life-threatening, police said. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Pomona Police Department at 909-620-2085 â-º cq â-„ .
