    A San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputy responding to a call of a suspicious occurrence in the Crestline area struck a pedestrian walking on Lake Drive south of Cedar Lane Thursday night just before 9:00 p.m. The pedestrian, identified as 60-year-old Kevin Lawrence Reed, was dressed all in black and had been walking along the side of the road when the responding unit reportedly drifted off to the side of the roadway, striking Reed with the right front bumper and side mirror. A passing motorist told The Alpenhorn News that he passed by the accident scene apparently immediately after it had occurred and saw the stricken pedestrian lying on his side in a curled position, also confirming that Reed was dressed all in dark clothing.
