About: Buena Park, California

Buena Park is located in southwestern California, near Anaheim and Santa Ana. In 1887 James A. Whitaker, the city's founder, named the city Buena Park, perhaps after a Chicago suburb of the same name. Another possible explanation for the name's origin is that local settlers referred to the area as "Plaza Buena" which translates to "Good Park." Buena Park began as an agricultural center that produced mostly dairy, wine and citrus products. Over the years it has become a suburban city.
